Five discussion groups are meeting, each once a month to discuss what really matters: No Agenda Clubs in Turku (since 2003), Helsinki (since 2010) and Jyväskylä (since 2010), Leadership&ICT Forum in Turku (since 2005), and Health Forum in Turku (since 2010). They have in common a curiosity to open dialogue. This blog combines their findings. Turku, Helsinki and Jyväskylä are cities in Finland.

Be still and enjoy your summer!

I'm sitting in the office, just finished my last task on my todo-list before I start my summer holidays. The office is empty and still, I hear the air conditioning humming - it's +28 °C outside, and the sun is shining.

How do I feel now? Am I now on holiday, or is my mind still at work?

Letting go is the key skill I'm thinking of right now. Can I let go of the busy spring and early summer, can I let go of my goals regarding next autumn? Is being enough for me?

I'm thinking of our family, and the vacation that's ahead of us. Do we have a plan, is it going to be a Yes Agenda holiday, not so different from our daily activities when parents were at work and children at school? Or is it a No Agenda holiday, with spontaneity and spaciousness?

I look at my calendar. 1st week, nothing. 2nd week, a sports camp for families with different exercises, healthy food, swimming and sauna... looks like a plan, but it's fun and we all love it. 3rd week, nothing. 4th week, nothing. 5th week, I'm still on holiday, and nothing planned for this week either.

So much room for surprises, so many opportunities to get frustrated because there's nothing to do! The children will innovate unbelievable ways to have fun, and all we have to do is let go of our controlling paradigms and let them be who they are - happy and healthy children.

I'm letting go of everything that's on my mind right now, accepting the nothingness of our holiday, and letting come anything that wants to return to me after the holidays.

Be still. Enjoy this moment. Let go, let come.
